The Gravenhurst Lions participate and support many ongoing activities and projects:

During the 2004-2005 School Year, our club assisted in completing screenings of nearly 14000 school-aged children throughout our area. Nearly 6000 of these students were referred to optometrists for further testing. Recently, we completed our second year of screening in all Public and Separate Schools in Simcoe-Muskoka. Early detection of vision problems in young people can reduce the risk of future blindness, and assist the child in achieving excellence in school.
Our OPP-Gravenhurst Lions Club Driver Reviver Station will occur every Friday of each long weekend this summer from 10-6 starting May 19 at the Muskoka Tourism Welcome Centre on Hwy 11 just north of Severn Bridge. Through the support of these community-minded businesses and organizations, we will once again be able to give fatigued drivers a quick break, and make our roads a much safer place. For more information on operating a Driver Reviver Station in your own community, contact Provincial Constable Harry Rawluk of the OPP- Huntsville Detachment or PDG Kathy Daoust of the Gravenhurst Lions.

Each Sunday night during the summer at Gull Lake Park in Gravenhurst, a free concert series is provided through the support of service clubs and businesses throughout Gravenhurst. The Lions are proud to continue their support of Music on the Barge and we'll be out in force helping on August 27th when the Good Brothers come to town. Here is a list of the complete Music on the Barge schedule.
Gravenhurst Youth Centre
Youth related projects amount to the "Lions-share" of our donations and support throughout the year. We are proud to have four of our members serve on the Board of Directors of the new Gravenhurst Youth Centre. The youth centre's vision is "To recognize the urgent need to enrich the lives of youth in our community with programs and special events."

Beechgrove Public School Breakfast Programme
Every Monday morning from September until June, our Lions are out serving hearty breakfasts to students at Beechgrove Public School. Our club is famous throughout the school for it's menu - waffles, juice, bagels, cereal bars. Each morning we serve upwards of 30 students. We believe that a full stomach in the morning contributes to a greater focus on learning.
Walk for Dog Guides
Presented annually in the Spring by the Gravenhurst and Bracebridge Lions Clubs. It consists of a 5 km walk in support of the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guide Programme.
To supply and train a single guide dog costs upwards of $25,000 - for which there is no government funding.
For more information, contact our Lions Foundation of Canada Chair at lfc@gravenhurstlions.org.
